When to pause orders vs. when to edit your hours

A simple rule of thumb for short interruptions vs. permanent schedule changes.

1 min readReviewed 15/05/2026

Pause orders when the interruption is short and one-off — you've run out of a key ingredient, the kitchen got hot, an emergency came up. The pause panel auto-resumes after the duration you choose, so you don't have to remember.

Edit your weekly hours when the change is permanent — you're shifting your Thursday opening time forward, or you've decided to close on Sundays.

Edit holiday overrides when the change is one date in particular — Eid, a wedding, a public holiday you want to skip. The override beats the weekly hours for that single date, and clears itself afterwards.

The customer storefront pill reads pause → holiday → weekly in that order, so a holiday override during a pause window stays closed.
